First Consultation
[Set specific context for class visited (how many times has the instructor taught this course, what were students asked to prepare, what activities were planned); overall objectives, teaching method to be observed, course materials, topics considered important to either party. Teaching Observation
[How the classroom visit was accomplished, e.g., in person, videotaped; how many students enrolled, how many attended that day, what was the student mix, mode of instruction observed, comments on how class was conducted, what was done well; what needs improvement. Second Consultation
[How did the instructor assess the class; what would they have done differently; was this class typical or not; what did the instructor learn from teaching the class and what ideas did s/he have for improving it? Suggestions on how to improve performance, most and least effective elements in teaching observed, clarification of elements of the teaching mode unfamiliar to the reviewer, topics considered important by either party.]
