Becky Liscusky – Hazleton

   I Like Dogs and Frogs

I like Dogs
I like Frogs
I
   like
           to
                walk
                         my
                               Dog

    like
           to
                 walk
                          my
                               Frog

                                       Dog on leash
                                       Frog on leash
                                    Dog and Frog on leash
We all like to take long walks in the park
Me,
         Dog,
                   & Frog
Frog hops up hills
Dog runs down trails
Both swim with swans

You know the pan’s hot …

But why do you still touch it?
You know it’s gonna burn,
But there is your hand, reaching out for the handle.
Some people just never learn —
A hot pan is always gonna burn.
But still you need to feel it again
And again to remind yourself that it is hot.
Because once in a while you go back to a time it
Was nice and cool, it was safe to touch,
You wouldn’t get burned.
Sometimes you forget how hot it really can get,
How much it can hurt,
And all you are left with is the pain
     And a burn mark.
