Constant Volume System

Instructions: Use the system below to investigate the relationship between
the energy of a system (E), heat (q), and work.  After each change,
click the "update system" button and record:

• the values of heat added/removed
• work done by/on the system
• temperature
• energy of the system, and
• the new external pressure

Facts about our system: The cylinder and the piston do not absorb or release heat. The piston is inifinitely light, provides a perfect seal, and will automatically be held stationary by an external pressure which exactly matches the pressure of the system. The maximum pressure of the cylinder is 5 atm. Don't exceed that pressure!
