Rhythm: Strength & Regularity
Assignment - find examples of concepts/elements
introduced in class for your art form (as labeled below, 1-2 examples of
contrasting degrees of an element, i.e., strong and weak beat, drawn from
diverse repertories)
Be sure to have a group
meeting after individual example searches to discuss and choose effective
examples
Turn in examples to me
during the afternoon before the due date
- art projects - submit URLs for images by e-mail (or
an attached MS Word document), organized and labeled by topic (or copy
files to a Zip disk and submit to me one day in advance of the due date)
- music - submit list of tracks/timings of examples
from Music Example Bank by e-mail, on a cassette tape with dubs, or CDs
with list of tracks/timings of examples (burn clips on a single CD-R or
bring all the audio CDs with list)
- film - submit tape with clips

- use of negative space - significant/incidental
- forms - open/closed

each)
